Dr. Praful Y. Mehta

PRESIDENT

Dr. Praful Mehta is a distinguished General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, renowned for his commitment to patient care and medical service. As the Proprietor of Mehta Hospital, he has established a premier institution known for its advanced super specialty surgical care in General Surgery, Urology, kidney care, and joint replacement.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Mehta is the Founder President of Helping Hand Charitable Trust (HHCT), dedicated to providing healthcare for bedridden seniors. He envisioned and successfully executed a medical home for bedridden seniors, offering comprehensive care and support. Recognizing the need for dialysis services in Pardi, he led the creation of the first dialysis center and a comprehensive kidney care unit for early detection and awareness of kidney diseases.

Dr. Mehta recently launched the Senior Companion program at HHCT to bridge the generation gap and promote senior care among youth. This program awards certificates beneficial for further studies, university admissions, and job placements, fostering empathy and social service.

Dr. Mehta’s leadership was evident early in his career at Baroda Medical College, where he served as Joint General Secretary of the Junior Doctors Association and took on roles such as Food Monitor of the Hostel Mess and Warden of the New P.G. Doctors Quarters, showcasing his organizational skills and dedication to improving student well-being.

Throughout his career, he has organized medical camps in rural Dharampur and Kaparada and initiated free monthly senior citizen camps since 2005. His service as Past President of the Indian Medical Association’s Valsad Branch and Past State Secretary of the Gujarat State Surgeons Association highlights his dedication to advancing surgical practices and healthcare standards.

SHRI SHARAD M. DESAI

A Visionary Leader with a Humanitarian Spirit

Shri Sharad Desai is an esteemed leader with a vast network and a strong humanitarian spirit. As the past President of Pardi Nagarpalika and Ex-Chairman of SBPP Co-op Bank Ltd, his influential connections and exceptional event management skills have significantly raised awareness about the Trust’s Medical Home and other initiatives. He has organized numerous fundraising events, often collaborating with celebrities. Shri Desai was instrumental in starting the Kidney Care Project in Valsad district, the first of its kind to offer prevention, early diagnosis, and state-of-the-art treatment under one roof. His commitment and contributions have been invaluable, solidifying his role as a key figure in the success of the Trust’s endeavours.

Instrumental Leadership: Shri Vinaybhai Desai’s Impact on the Medical Home

Shri Vinaybhai Desai’s leadership has been crucial in the development of the Medical Home project. His decisive action to purchase the rented property alleviated space constraints and allowed the Trust to focus on its mission. His role in land acquisition and meticulous planning of the construction phase has ensured a well-thought-out design for the Medical Home, making him an integral figure in its success.

Shri. Ajay Shah

Serene and Financially Astute

Shri Ajay Shah is a serene individual with profound financial acumen and a forward-thinking approach. His calm personality and expertise in financial matters have made him a pivotal figure in the Trust, guiding it towards prudent financial practices and sustainable growth. His support for new projects and generous contributions demonstrate his deep commitment to the Trust’s mission.

Dr. Pratap Thosar

Exemplary Contributor and Pillar of Support

Dr. Pratap Thosar, a senior family physician, has dedicated his life to serving his community. His involvement with numerous trusts, particularly in education and the preservation of Sanskrit teachings, showcases his broad contributions. At the Trust, he provides both medical and administrative advice, engages in daily rounds, and has been pivotal in new projects, making regular donations and offering his premises.

Shri. Rajendra Desai

Shri Rajendra Desai, a highly esteemed Chartered Accountant, has been the driving force behind the Dialysis Centre’s establishment and expansion. His financial expertise and community influence have secured crucial donations for the Trust, demonstrating his steadfast commitment to enhancing healthcare services in Pardi.

Shri. Kishorebhai Pandya

Enthusiastic Contributor and Motivator

Mr. Kishorebhai Pandya is an enthusiastic motivator who consistently demonstrates eagerness to contribute, assist, and support the Trust in various activities. Despite the geographical distance, his consistent involvement showcases a deep dedication to the Trust’s mission and goals, as evidenced by his visits and active participation in Trust affairs.

Shri. Miraj Vashi

Seasoned Builder and Construction Oversight

Mr. Miraj Vashi, a seasoned builder, has played a crucial role in overseeing the construction activities undertaken by the Trust. His wealth of experience and expertise in the construction domain have significantly contributed to the success of our project designs. His strategic approach to procuring building materials without compromising quality standards has helped in optimizing project costs.

Ms. Swatiben Lalbhai

Guiding Light with Unwavering Pillar of Support

Ms. Swatiben Lalbhai has been an unwavering pillar of support, especially during critical situations. Her guidance and assistance have been invaluable to the Trust. Her mother Vimlaben’s initial donation is a testament to the family’s unwavering faith in our project before its official start. Her timely intervention and support helped the Trust navigate challenging financial situations, ensuring the continuity and progress of our construction work.

Shri Nitinbhai Desai exemplifies principled leadership and administrative excellence within the Trust. He dedicates substantial time to overseeing day-to-day activities, ensuring operational success. His unwavering commitment to ethical standards and proactive involvement in staff welfare highlight his genuine concern for the team’s well-being, making him an invaluable asset to the Trust.

Late: Jayantbhai Champaneri

The Enduring Legacy of Philanthropy and social Services in Pardi

Mr. Jayantbhai Champaneri, a distinguished figure in Pardi, exemplified the virtues of philanthropy and community service. As a respected engineer, he devoted his life to uplifting others, leaving an indelible mark on the social landscape of Pardi. He facilitated thousands of free cataract surgeries and eye donations, established the first and only blood bank in Pardi, and a school for mentally challenged children. He also played a key role in establishing a crematorium for Pardi and the Medical Home project. Despite his untimely passing, his vision lives on through the completion of these projects, ensuring a lasting impact on the community.

Late: Ashokbhai Patel

Generous Donor and Person of Integrity

Mr. Ashokbhai Patel was a cornerstone in the realization of our noble cause by contributing precious land to the Trust. He was not merely a land donor but a man of politeness and integrity. His ethical practices and transparency added strength to the Trust’s foundation. We are grateful to him for being a pillar of success to our Trust’s mission. His untimely death was a significant loss.

Late: Shantaben Patel

A Tribute to a Lifetime of Compassion and Generosity

Smt. Shantaben Patel, a remarkable philanthropist, made a significant impact on the Trust’s evolution by generously donating more than Rs 1 crore,  showcasing her selflessness and dedication to uplifting others. Her humanitarian spirit, deeply rooted in her faith, extended beyond monetary donations. she attributed all her charitable endeavours to “Pujya Jalarambapa ni krupa”. She dedicated herself to social work, focusing on empowering women in the slums of Andheri, Mumbai. She opened her doors to young girls, offering them a nurturing environment to pursue their dreams. Her generosity also included donating her own residence in Pardi to the Helping Hand Charitable Trust. Despite her passing on 19/02/2020, her legacy of compassion and support lives on through the Trust, inspiring us to carry forward her mission of compassion and hope.
